Microsoft has launched a new Family Safety app for iOS and Android platforms.

The app, which the company has been testing in the last few months, is designed to allow families to manage screentime and app usage.

Parents can receive detailed reports on app usage and screentime and can choose to set limits on apps. Children using the app have the ability to request extensions to app usage. Certain apps can also be blocked.

The Family Safety app syncs across Windows, Xbox and Android. Time limits on games apply across the different devices.

The app also includes a location sharing feature. Microsoft says it is planning to add notifications to this feature, which will be a premium feature for subscribers of Microsoft 365.
