Apple is reportedly manufacturing its first flagship iPhone in India, with Foxconn building iPhone 11 units in a Chennai facility.
According to TechCrunch, this is the first time Apple has had a top-tier iPhone manufactured in the country.
Other lower-cost iPhones have been made in India since 2017 and there have been reports for some time that the company was looking to shift production of its top-tier products to India as well.
If confirmed, the reports signal that Apple will reduce its dependence on China, where most of the iPhones are still manufactured.
Apple is yet to confirm the reports.
