Facebook is diversifying people's options for making money on social networks, the company blogged on Monday. Virtual live events are the current big focus - with people using Facebook tools to design, create, promote and host to their audiences.
The social giant now allows users to profit off virtual live events and for Instagram creators to log into Facebook’s Creator Studio tools.
Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, will now be linked to some of Facebook’s revenue-focused tools and products. Facebook is also extending Brand Collabs Manager access, to help creators across both platforms get and manage the sponsors that they plus in their posts.
Facebook has also expanded access to fan subscriptions, which support creators with a monthly recurring payment, and video comments – known as “stars“. Creators can now set up star goals as permanent overlays in videos, as well as automated star thank-you cards.
Creator Studio is getting new features, too. Metrics into live event data, will now include stars and traffic sources, and details into the first 48 hours after a video is published. The Creator Studio app now includes the ability to publish and schedule Facebook posts within the app itself, and will add comment insights and recommendations about how the user to spur more interest.
This paid online events product will grow in the coming weeks, the company has said.
