An upcoming live webinar will introduce you to Azure VMware Solution and outline how the offering can simplify your journey to the cloud, by enabling you to seamlessly extend or completely migrate your existing on-premises VMware applications to Azure.
Put together the world leaders in virtualisation software and cloud computing and what do you get?
A new service that offers a flexible and cost-effective pathway to migrate your VMware estate to the Azure Cloud without the cost, effort, or risk of re-architecting applications or retooling operations.
The Azure VMware Solution comes to Australia and New Zealand at a time when the pandemic has prompted many organisations to think about their data centre assets and the benefits of moving legacy systems and computing workloads to the cloud.
No re-training required
AVS allows you to seamlessly move VMware-based workloads from your data centre to Azure and integrate your VMware environment with Azure. It enables you to keep managing your existing environments with the same VMware tools you already know while modernizing your applications with Azure native services.
VMware’s Mike Reddie
“For over two decades, we’ve been helping customers on their digital transformation journeys, and that started in the virtualization space,” says Mike Reddie, Senior Director Cloud at VMware Australia and New Zealand.
“The vast majority of our customers are now on a journey to the cloud and the AVS solution is a really powerful way for them to take their existing VMware environments to the Azure Cloud the fastest way possible.”
AVS is accessible through the Azure Portal, with monthly billing, support and account representation for the VMware-certified solution provided by Microsoft.
It gives customers the ability to modernize their VMware workloads at their own pace through integration with Azure services such as Azure Active Directory, Azure AI, and Analytics enabling new, intelligent experiences.

“It’s an incredibly powerful set of services,” says Reddie. “You get access to the AI suite – the whole IoT portfolio, which includes many tools that allow our customers to build and modernize their applications.”
“We really see AVS as helping our customers accelerate their journey to the cloud, enabling them to easily move their VMware workloads to Azure and increase productivity with elasticity, scale, and fast provisioning cycles,” says Richard Warner, Microsoft’s Azure Advance Migration Sales Lead for Asia Pacific.
The webinar, says Warner, will appeal to IT managers and system administrators who are looking at ways to accelerate their digital transformation to the cloud, but at the same time capitalizing on their existing VMware investments, skills, and tools, including VMware vSphere, vSAN, and vCenter.
As a webinar attendee, you will also be able to register for a free, no-obligation workshop with Microsoft and VMware experts to drill deeper into what AVS can offer your organisation.
